Hi, I’m Emily!

I’m a full-time photographer, small business owner, firefighter wife, dog mama, and major coffee enthusiast. You’ll almost always find a venti Americano in my hand—it really is the most important food group. As the wise internet icon Mila once said, “It tastes like hopes and dreams.”

I’m the owner and founder of Photographs by Emily, LLC, a business I started back in 2009. In 2020, I proudly opened my own studio right here in St. Clair County. Getting to do what I love every day—capturing life’s most meaningful moments for families like yours—is truly one of my greatest blessings.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me with my husband (we were married in 2012!) and our two dogs, Cooper and Gordie. We love traveling and spending time on Lake Huron. Together, we also co-founded Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting breast cancer patients right here in our community. My journey with photography began long before my business did. I was the teen always snapping away with a disposable camera (yes, the cheesy ones), and in college, I took my first photography course—turning curiosity into passion. I still love learning new techniques through online courses and workshops because photography is always evolving, and so am I.
